Cantatas for Christmas

Genesis Chamber Series
11-13 December 2026
Melbourne | Castlemaine | Flinders

Internationally renowned French soprano Myriam Arbouz, one of the most distinguished 17th and 18th century vocal specialists of her generation, joins Genesis Baroque for a festive baroque feast.

The program celebrates the Christmas season with Graupner’s astonishingly beautiful cantata Angst und Jammer; a poignant depiction of healing from deep suffering through faith and salvation, and Bach’s exultant cantata for soprano and trumpet, Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, alongside Michel Corrette’s charming, inventive instrumental Christmas carol settings.
